NAMI Support Group Facilitator Trainings

NAMI Family Support Group Facilitator Training

A NAMI Family Support Group Facilitator is a trained NAMI leader who leads a 90-minute, monthly family support group. They play an important role in ensuring that all participants feel welcomed and supported. A NAMI facilitator also ensures that the group follows NAMI’s support group model by maintaining guidelines, sustaining clear participant boundaries, and reinforcing communication skills that encourage group participation.

Potential candidates should be a family member or loved one of an individual who is living with a mental health diagnosis. Candidates should also have attended the NAMI Family Support Group meetings and agree to adhere to the NAMI Support Group model. Interested individuals should complete a Facilitator Training Application and return the application to NAMI Keystone PA. For questions and information on upcoming trainings, contact Susan Caban at 412-366-3788 or email scaban@namikeystonepa.org.
